about the project:
In 2022, I was lucky enough to be one of the recipients of Creative Scotland’s Create:Inclusion award, a fund reserved for under-represented groups in the arts. Working alongside percussionist and producer Dave Martin, we created a four-track EP exploring my emotions and experiences as a non-binary autistic person.

often I feel a rage I can’t handle
instead of doing something, I’ve found a way
to switch it off and turn into nothing
it always feels like I’m about to fade
and sometimes it’s all so overwhelming
that all I want is to find a way to change
if I say it’s not okay, would it hurt your feelings?
if I always mean what I say, can I say I’m healing?
you say you’re different and I don’t believe you
I say I’m here when I’m actually miles away
I’ve never known how to state how I’m feeling
even when it should be easy for me to say
I think a part of me thinks I deserve this
to feel so little, I don’t even know how to ache
if I say I’m okay, will I ever mean it?
if I’ve always felt a similar way, can I ever beat it?
